HK Cafe's in Vancouver Downtown

hey guys,

I'm new to the area and I was looking for cheap HK style cafes around the Downtown area!

I live near Seymour and Davie so anything around there would be a bonus!

thanks!

    1. Well, I"m not originally from Vancouver, BUT I've been there before and if you're looking for cheap and fast there's a restaurant downtown on Robson call Hon's http://www.hons.ca/hons_english.htm

Everything on the menu is either under $10 or around $10. Check out the website! Last time I was there it was packed, and my meal was good and fast too!

      Hope that helps!

        1. I believe Hon's is as close as you get for a HK-style cafe in downtown. If you cross the bridge, there's I-Cafe on Broadway and Heather and Cafe Gloucester and Curry King along Cambie (nears Capers).

If you head into Chinatown, there's The Boss Cafe on Main.

              • what exactly is a "hong kong style cafe"?

It's a type of restaurant that serves western dishes with a Hong Kong twist:

The Goldfinch in Hong Kong exemplifies this type of restaurant. Vancouver and suburbs has dozens of them scattered about.

It's akin to Japanese Yoshuku-ya that serve Western food with a Japanese twist.

Another option for Chinatown is Maxim's. Not many people know about it but it's upstairs from the bakery on Keefer St. I find the food here better than the Boss.
