Indian food in Pasadena

Hi, I'm looking for suggestions for Indian food in Pasadena for dinner on Friday night.

  1. I've been to two Indian places in Pasadena. All Star India Cafe in Old Town and Sitar on Colorado across from Laemmle's. I personally like to avoid Old Town on the weekends so I would go with the latter. Sitar was the first place I ever had Indian food and that was a good memory. Nearby also is a place called Radhika's Cuisine of India. It's next door to Green Street Restaurant and looks like a nicer ambiance if you would prefer that. Hope you have fun on Friday!

Radhika's just closed! I walked by today and everything is shut down. There was some sort of construction going on inside. I heard they had problems with their lease and are looking for a new spot now.

I actually tried to go to Radhika's a couple of weeks ago and they had gone out of business. It was rather disappointing since a Chef actually recommended it to me.

      2. I can't remember the name of the place, but it is on the second floor of the building that houses Euro Pane. Great food and great atmosphere.

I think you're talking about this place:

          New Delhi Palace
          (626) 405-0666

          950 E Colorado Blvd, Pasadena, CA 91106

I'll probably go there or to Radhika's, since I agree that Old Town is crowded on the weekends. Thank you. :)

        2. Thank you for the great suggestions. :)

Also I think New Delhi Palace and Radhika's are better than any of the Old Town Indian food restaurants.

          2. We usually end-up at either New Delhi Palace (save room and get a fruity dessert from TuttiFrutti downstairs!) or Sitar; my personal preference is for New Delhi Palace for service and cleanliness, like the food a bit better at Sitar but have had horrible service there. Actually, come to think of it, I might like the food better at New Delhi Palace.

Of course, I don't know diddly-squat about the authenticity of the food at either restaurant, but I know what tastes good to me.

            1. Thanks, everyone. We ended up at New Dehli Palace on Colorado near Mentor. I got the vegetarian combo dinner, and my friend got the mango chicken curry. We were both pleased with the food, and my leftovers tasted great the next day. The naan was also very good. I appreciate your help in finding a place.
