Chinese Food in Raleigh
Watching the Beijing Olympics is making me hungry! (And the Today Show just featured a man who does the best Peking Duck in the world!)
Now that Red Palace is closed (albeit temporarily), where is the best Chinese food in Raleigh? (And particularly Peking Duck!)
Fortune Palace at 2815 Brentwood Rd. is quite good. They always have 6 or so specials listed, often whole fish. There are two menus. Using pork for example, the Americanized menu lists sweet & sour, in garlic sauce, Mongolian, Peking & Mu Shi while the other menu lists two tripe dishes, two intestine dishes, two spare rib dishes, and 5 or 6 other pork dishes which aren't on the Americanized menu. They do have a lunch buffet, but I have never seen or tried it. They often look pretty quiet, but they do a large take-out business, so don't let that put you off.

Thanks for the info. Funny - I didn't know that place existed until recently, when someone here mentioned the shop/food court right next door. And that's where I found myself on the evening of the Opening Ceremony, stocking up on Chinese snacks and things for our little party at home. We'll have to check it out.

So many strip malls, so little time! I drive by so many each day and have just the slightest awareness of what type businesses are in them. How many little gems am I zipping past? Thank goodness for Chowhound for providing a forum to exchange info!
BTW, on the other side of Capital is an E. European market, Caspian International. They have some interesting things!
