Sag Harbor recs?

I posted last week looking for your picks in East Hampton and Amagansett, but I should have also included Sag Harbor in my list of towns. What do you recommend there, and are your choices better/equal to the restaurants in EH and A? Not necessarily looking for fancy (though fancy is okay), but I'm trying to take advantage of having a couple of night out without my kids.

Our favorite with children is Il Cappuccino. Lovely old world style restaurant with checkered tableclothes and wine bottles hanging from the ceiling. They have a kids menu too. The food is very good and fresh and they ususally have a number of specials. Reasonably priced concidering where you are. They only take reservations for parties of 5 or more.

thanks. I'll remember that if i'm looking for a place on a night when i'm with my kids, but i'm more interested in places to go without them, since i'll have a sitter for a couple of nights.

actually i go there with my wife without the kids quite often, il Cap.'s food is fantastic, just ask for a table away from "families" you wont go wrong trust me. The American Hotel is great too as is Spinnakers.

I ate at Spinnaker's a while back and was not impressed. B Smith has the best view, but overpriced and not that good. Better to go there for a drink.

I live in Sagaponack and love Sag Harbor! Good food with a view - The Beacon or The Dockside (Seafood). Fancy & accepts reservations- The American Hotel (French American). Super casual and inside, but with a view - LaSuperica (Mexican)

I also like going to The American Hotel for lunch for a hamburger, and it doesn't feel so fancy then! For the OP - do check out the cheese store on the street behind the hotel - I always forget the name, but it's wonderful.

Cavinola’s is the cheese store and they just opened a wine store right next door.
