Want to take sister for birthday....where is a great place that won't hurt the wallet with good food, beer , wine on menu in scottsdale?

roaring fork, definitely. all night happy hour during the summertime. go early or go late(around 8) though, tried to go to on a tuesday night at 630 and had to wait half an hour for a table, but it had cleared out almost completely by the time we left at 8.

if you go you have to get the green chile pork stew and a side order of the green chile mac and cheese. trust me.

Do you know when the all night happy hour ends? Summer seems like it goes on forever here...

It ends at 10pm.
I believe you also need to be sitting in the bar for happy hour pricing.

I meant when "summer" ends for the all night happy hour. We got happy hour last time outside on the patio.

We go to Roaring Fork for happy hour almost every week and we asked the same question. The bartender told us last year "summer" ended when it stopped being hot, which was around October sometime (!).

AnonWaitress is SO right on...I just came back from Roaring Fork, and was about to write a glowing post about it. My girlfriend and I paid $31 total, sans tip, for 3 drinks and 2 appetizers! The crowd was an eclectic and surprising mix of older couples, large groups of professionals, and single business people. So refreshing from the trite Scottsdale crowd at these new restaurants. We loved the food and wine list and can't wait to go back.
