Thanx in advance for the input. My partner and I will be in town for our 20th and for the US Open tennis. We are staying in Chelsea and have been given the following recommendations.
Bar Milano
Inoteca
Please Don't Tell
Pegu Club
Employees Only.
Now i understand that these are Cocktail focused places, but was ondering if anyone has any comments on the food. Thanx again.

if you like rosamunde on haight, you might like please don't tell just because you can get fried hot dogs there. there's plenty of posts on both. and I believe bar milano (new) has an extensive menu, italian small plates?

We've wined and dined at inoteca at the Lower East Side many times. Robust Italian wine list and good Italian tapas. The truffled egg toast, among others, is always a staple for us..

Bar Milano is far from being just cocktail-focused. Because it's situated at -- but not run by -- a boutique hotel (The Marcel), it's open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The dining room is entirely separate from the bar room. We've had dinner in the dining room twice. They offer a full menu, not just small plates. The first time, we ordered a la carte, and the second time, we had the tasting menu. Both meals were excellent. If you prefer to eat in the bar, I believe the regular menu is available there until midnight, after which, there is a bar menu. The bar is open until 3 a.m.
