South San Francisco: Cafe di Casa (near Darby Dan) - Brazilian bbq and hot dogs?
First of all this place near the airport is open at 6am during the week and I've read they brew the coffee by cup and it is said to be very good.
I was trying out a new Brazilian joint in Richmond and picked up the free Brazilian paper to see if there were any Brazilian markets or restaurants I was unfamiliar with ... voila ... Cafe di Casa.
Looking around on the web for info, this tiny Brazilian cafe that opened in May, 2007 has an owner from Brazilia, Brazil. A chicken dish, frango com molha de pequi, is supposed to be a dish from Brazilia ... though it might be an aquired taste.
It seems there's a grill out on the patio where they are serving up Brazilian hot dogs and hamburgers. I have had Brazilian hamburgers but not hot dogs. Anyone tried the hot dogs or anything at this place?
There was a report a year ago when they opened they were planning to have Brazilian bbq. Anyone know about that? I also read they have a real-deal feijoada complete with piggy ears.
The ad itself is in Portuguese only and I recognized some dishes but there were others new to me. From my limited Portuguese they serve Brazilian snacks as well as lunch and dinner. If nothing else, I've now learned the days of the week in Portuguese and that they are numbered (Sunday = 1).
Anyway, it looks interesting and I'll try to drop by when I'm down that way. Hope that someone has tried it though and has info.
