Mexican take-out in Santa Fe?

Neely_Ohara Aug 9, 2008 03:43 PM

Hi -- we moved to Santa Fe (Eldorado, to be specific) about 4 months ago from LA.

One of our "comfort foods" in LA was Campos Famous Burritos. A pretty standard Mexican menu, easy for take-out.

Anything like that in Santa Fe? I've noticed a place called Posa's El Merendero, but they seem to specialize in tamales -- and I'd like something that also has burritos, tacos, fajitas, etc.

And to clarify: I am NOT looking to re-create LA in Santa Fe -- just looking for some good Mexican comfort food.

thanks in advance for any suggestions!

Try the Coyote Cafe. They have some Mexican inspired dishes and you can get them for take out. Or, take a chance and gamble 12 bucks for an order from Posa's and see for yourself if they meet your objective.

Try Copa de Oro in the Agora at Eldorado. You can call ahead and pick up your order or enjoy eating outside in the courtyard this time of year. We've had good enchiladas and burritos there which they kept on the menu when they changed owners this year.

Give Bumble Bee a try. My husband and I have lunch there every time we are in SF.
Consistently good and fresh. Has won the Best in Santa Fe many times, if not every year.
