I'm currently going through a bottle of Bols amaretto, but feel there has to be something better out there. I know Disaronno is often said to be great, but is there other semi-widely available brand that is nicer?

Luxardo is my favorite. Not quite as sweet and syrupy as Di Saronno, it has a richer amaretto flavor.

I second the Luxardo recommendation. All of their products are above-average to outstanding. Disaronno is for sorority girls only.

I don't use it a lot, but Luxardo is also my preferred brand.

Disaronno is indeed syrupy kid stuff, though I like the hoochie mama in the TV ad.

There's another product out there called Gozio at a premium price that I have not tried.

I've tried the Gozio and prefer it to the Disaronno. Again not syrupy or sugary sweet like the Di. Although I have not tried the Luxardo.

I like the Marie Brizard one. Less sweet than the Disaronno. Luxardo is tasty as well.
