I'm a recent turned vegetarian. Where are there delivery places around the San Francisco area that cater to vegetarians? Something like prepared meals not so much take out.

another great option might be tiffin-style lunch delivery service. something like http://www.nytimes.com/2006/03/15/din.... when i worked for a software company on the peninsula, many employees who weren't lucky enough to have meals from home subscribed to the tiffin deliveries. made in small batches by home cooks, the meals often elicited a "just like mom makes" happy sigh from my coworkers.

So to clarify, are you looking for a delivery service that will provide you with a set week of meals or restaurants that deliver?

      For weekly service, check out:

My approach to vegetarianism is 'honest food'--I don't get into soy products disguising themselves as animal flesh, etc. I usually do just fine perusing omnivore menus carefully. There's usually a quiche (if ovo-lacto is no problem), rice-n-beans, dressed-up potato, pasta primavera or the like. Right now I live in a very non-veg area; I don't bother asking waitstaff for suggestions, because they're bound to suggest a salad, or soup-n-salad if they think hard. Their surprize at discovering (more or less) vegetarian entrees on their menus is often humorous. Of course in San Fran you probably won't run into that, and you probably have plenty of Middle Eastern and Thai places with huge variety. Bon appetit!
