Oakland tonight - need help!

Last minute plans to celebrate a birthday in Oakland tonight. We need a place that doesn't take reservations or would be easy to walk in at 7pm for 4 people....

Any suggestions? Pretty open to price range and cuisine. Places we like are Wood Tavern, Pizzaiolo, Rivoli, Dopo...

Thank you in advance!

Well, it is more panini's and salads, but maybe Marc 49, the wine bar near pizzaiolo.

Try B in Old Oakland. We ate there last night, great food (wonderful truffle french fries) and great service. If they are too busy there are three or four other restuarants in easy range, Levende across the street, and a seafood also.

Go to A Cote and sit at the communal table

I had a good meal at Mono, but it's much closer to Cesar than to the places mentioned.

On a Thursday, À Côté might have a four-top at 7, but I'd call first.

I like Dona Tomas but I wouldn't go there for a celebration.

If you want to try something new, what about Mono? Or go to Alameda and try Acquacotta.

You could aslo go to Dona Tomas when you swring by Pizzaiolo . I love Dopo but tried to get in around 6:30 a couple weeks ago on a Thursday and our party of 5 waited over an hour. A Cote on College would probably work and is fun for a bday.

You could swing by Pizzaiolo and see if they've got room for four (more likely since they added the patio seating), with Dopo as a fallback.
