Lulu's - Bellaire, MI - closed

Drove 60 miles to one of my favorite up north restaurants, Lulu's, in Bellaire, MI last night only to find a cryptic message posted on the front window. Something to the effect that due to unforseen circumstances the restaurant would be closed indefinitely. There was tape across the front entrance saying "do not enter - fire scene". Evidently they must have had some sort of fire.

It was my birthday and I really was looking forward to a meal there. Sure hope the place can reopen. I know they've opened a sister restaurant in Elk Rapids but I prefer the Bellaire location.

It's listed in recent newspaper articles as alive and well.

Bummer. I was hoping to eat there on my next visit to Bellaire. Hopefully, they'll be back in business in no time.

What??? We are/were going there the last week of August and that was one of the places that we were going to eat. Sad news indeed!
