Soleil Cafe, Teele Square - what's up?

I have been watching the Soleil Cafe space eagerly - there were signs in the window that it was changing hands and was going to be run by two people (sorry, forget their names), one of them who was the pastry chef at the Modern in the North End (made my mouth water just thinking about it). Last night I noticed they were open with the same interior and signage, and this a.m. I jogged past to see pastry in the case and what looked like new menus (all I could read was "All Day Menu"). Anyone know the story, or been in to eat yet?

    1. Here is a link from the Davis Square Livejournal community on the topic. Looks like it just opened.

        1. Stopped in on my way home tonight and grabbed a take-out menu. They did a nice job of opening up the place and it looks really welcoming. Well-lit!

Lots of Italian pastries, gelato, Rao's coffee and espresso. Menu items include:
-sandwiches, $7.25 (eggplant parm; Napolitan meatballs+peppers; potatoes, peppers, and eggs; sausage+mushroom, etc)
          -salads, $7.25
-wraps, $6.75 (Buffalo chicken, chicken caesar)
-pastas, a little pricey, $10.95-$13.75 (penne siciliana, gnocchi all sorrentina, spaghetti puttansca, etc).

            1. I've been in a bunch of times now since I live nearby. The food is actually really good, as is the atmosphere of course. The only thing I'm not too fond of is the tiramisu. Nevertheless, I get a new dish to try almost every time I walk in and other than the tiramisu I haven't been disappointed. The chicken and pesto sandwich on homemade focaccia is great. I love bread and try it wherever I go; their bread is worth trying.
