Charleston on a budget

I am visiting a friend in the Navy this weekend, and we are looking for some good local eats that won't break the bank. We are looking for lowcountry, BBQ and soul food cuisine that is tasty and inexpensive-- something that you can't really get elswhere is preferable. Does anyone have tips?

I hear Boulevard Diner is good for this kind of food, but I'm not sure of where else.

  1. I recommend Boulevard Diner, good food and desserts. As for BBQ, you might want to try Momma Brown's buffet, also in Mt. P. Although, someone with more BBQ experience might be able to help you out on this more than I can.
