Top 10 Cheap Eats Vancouver
Hi all,
I am in need of your expertise!
Amateur foodie in Vancouver for a month (been here two weeks already) and was SO excited about the food options when I got here. However, my aimless eating has gotten me only a couple "WOW" experiences and many "Ehh.." experiences. Can you list for me your top inexpensive-to-moderate places to eat? I am near the West End so bonus points for places I can easily walk to.
here are some places I've already been (in no order & with only my faves and worsts noted)

Bonus: Anyone know of any good Turkish food around here?
Thank you SO much in advance!! I love Vancouver and am excited for some more great eating experiences. I'm heading to that noodle place on Denman b/w Alberni and Robson that always has a line for lunch today....

I have heard that Anatolia on Kingsway is good.

Argo Cafe, near 2nd and Ontario, breakfast/lunch, amazing and cheap daily specials closed Sun Mon
Splitz Grill 4242 Main, towering burgers, great onion rings, really reasonable
Saravanaa Bhavan on Broadway near Oak (north side) -- stick to the uttapam, dosa and other south Indian dishes -- really reasonable 955 W. Broadway, 604-732-7700
DONA CATA MEXICAN FOODS on Victoria Dr., 604-436-2232 tacos, tacos, tacos, great salsas
Kayan 777 Broadway (upstairs) – order from the middle Eastern mezes/appetizers list for a great lunch or dinner for cheap

Some of my fav economical HK style cafes are Curry King, Ken's, Gloucester and 54th Avenue. They all offer special mini combos that come with a drink from $4.95-8.95 during special hours. I think Ken's offer them all day long. They also great "dah lang" there too, if you order $15 worth of "appie/tapas", it comes with free congee.
