Late night eats

Taking my little bro (19) and a girl (friend or more - we're not sure) to dinner in the city after the Sox game on Saturday. We'll probably get there on the later side - 9:30 or 10ish and would like to find a place that's still serving and not desolate at that hour. They won't appreciate anything too expensive or ethnic, but I would like to take them somewhere that seems kinda cool and fun somewhere close to downtown (like west, south loop, river north ish). Our default right now is greektown (but my brother has been there plenty of times), so I wanted to see if there might be something better... Any good ideas? Thanks.

In today's Tribune, there's an article on late night restaurants, with an emphasis on after-theater dining. See www.chicagotribune.com/features/lifes...

Avec would be a great choice.

Have you tried Quartino (626 N. State St.)? We ate there over the weekend and it was delicious. It had a very fun atmosphere with inside and outside seating and they are open late.

If Quartino doesn't serve late, there's always Bijan's (663 No. State). They serve until 3a, and their food is more than decent. It's not as fun as Quartino, but almost.
