SE Michigan - crab legs

My dude has expressed a wish to get some crab legs, and suggested Joe's Crab Shack. I know he'll hate the theme decor and the campy b-day songs (not to mention the chain fare), so I need another place to go. We're in Ann Arbor, but willing to travel all around SE Michigan. There's a Chinese buffet on Washtenaw in Ypsi that has crab legs, but they are never AWESOME, merely fair.

Any suggestions for super awesome crab legs? Anyone have reviews for E.G. Nick's in Brighton, or how about any of the Muer restos, pertaining to crab legs?

  1. Tom's Oyster Bar at the north end of Rochester (Rochester Rd and Tienken) by Poppa Joes, has a king crab special one night during the week. Can't remember which night it is but a quick google should get a web site for the restaurant.

    1. You could try the new buffet at Motorcity Casino. All you can eat crab legs on Fridays.

      1. fran o'brien's maryland crab house

in a strip mall on opdyke road just south of the silverdome in auburn hills

small and a bit kitchy, but pretty good food and good service. whole blue crab (garlic or old bay), snow crab legs, king crab legs, dungenous crab legs, stone crab claws (in season), soft shell crabs (in season), plus some other seafood dishes. overall, pretty good (light years better than joe's crab shack or red lobster). my wife and i go 1-2 times a year for a fix.

        1. Dexter Pub (Dexter) has all you can eat crab legs on Tuesdays. I've only been there for drinks and a lot of the reviews I found say the service is slow, but it's a nice, casual place.
