Dried peppers in NoVA...

phishie Aug 5, 2008 08:57 AM

trying to get a hold of some dried chiles de arbol and dried pasilla peppers for the Ersatz Papalote Salsa recipe (http://www.chow.com/recipes/10646). Haven't had any luck with the chain grocers (Giant, Safeway, Harris Teeter) as expected. Anyone know where I might have some luck with this in NoVA (specifically Gallows Rd., Falls Church / Annandale area)?

Have you tried Shoppers? I don't know if they carry those chiles but I'm impressed with the wide array they have. Not in the spices but in the Mexican food section. Also, you could try El Grande on Gallows.
