BYO Dinner after matinee at the Academy of Music - need help

Friends are coming in from Northern VA to see Spamalot. They're dying to go to a BYO and we don't want to have to move the car. Any kind of food/price is OK. Any suggestions?

How about "Upstairs at Vareles"? Just across the street. Very good food.

I don't think Upstares at Varalli is a BYOB.

It's not, and I don't think the food is very good either.

If you like sushi/Japanese, I highly recommend Misso (1326 Spruce Street). It's literally 3 blocks away.

      Bistro la Baia (6-7 blocks)
      Lolita (2-3 blocks)
La Fontana Della Citta (4-5 blocks)

La Viola on 16th Street is a short walk, and the food is yummy and moderately priced, especially for that neighborhood.

Be aware that La Viola can be very crowded and very noisy. Excellent food, though.

Also close by, and one that I think is generally underated, is Mercato on Spruce between 12th and 13th.

I agree, Mercato is a great choice.

Well a lot depends on what you consider walking distance. Branzino about 3 blocks away on 17th st. They have decent Italian. We haven't been in a while though so you might want to check the reviews.

Apamate is a fun tapas place on South near 16th. It would be about 6 blocks.

Branzino is excellent. We eat there frequently. It's on 17th, just north of Spruce St. Make a reservation.
I think it's the best BYOB within walking distance.
