Oh No....! What will I do now....? ;-)

Oh wait, I have been boycotting Mcd's on the principal of their lack of good tasting food for over a year and a half.

We don't get the $1 double cheese in Wichita, we have the $1 Big Xtra (the 1/4 lb. Whopper clone). But it doesn't impact me much anyway, since I mostly hit McD's for breakfast only, and only rarely then.

Everyone likes to look down his nose at McDonald's but if I look down MY nose, I'm likely to see a double cheeseburger about to be wolfed down. They are pretty darn good and for a buck, cheap.

When my twins were very little and I had to spend two hours/day on weekends driving them around the Virginia countryside so they would take a nap (fortunately this was pre-$4 gas), those double cheeseburgers from the drive-thru were often my primary sustenance for the day.

Same here, if I'm in a hurry and on the road, $1 for a double cheeseburger... which I'm sorry.... I admit..... THE HORROR.... it tastes pretty damn good to me. Is a hard deal to beat.
I'm not saying go have one every day. .....

Did I predict/cause this??? LOL This is my post on july 31 .......

I'll take McDonalds over Bk any day....IMO...about the same (if not the same) amount of meat, but Bk is almost twice the price......imagine the uproar if McDonalds ever takes it off the dollar menu......Yikes!!! LOL

This thread inspired me to have two last night. I had a fridge full of food at home, but I was in a hurry after work, running errands and not able to go straight home for dinner... and I don't care, they were damn good, as always.

Too bad! When I get my McDonalds urges, that's the only thing I'll buy (with small fries). It was bad enough that the price of a Filet O Fish went up to $1.29 in L.A. during Lent this year...

What is it about Wichita -- our Filet O Fish sandwiches go for something like $2.39, our double cheeseburgers are $1.89 or thereabouts. I want cheap eats here...

Minimum wage went up...so the "Dollar" menus have turned into "Value" menus.

                    ...trickle down economics...

I'd say it's transportation costs, look at your grocery marts, prices are up on most items. Are wages?? I doubt it.

I'd have NO problem with them charging a $1 but just dropping the cheese. The cheese makes me go plop-plops.
