Ideas for Cocktails & Bakeries
Montreal Chowhound visiting Boston this week.
I am looking for nice classy locations to have cocktails before dinner.
Also looking for best bakeries or pastry shops.
Any tips would be appreciated.
Thanks

I haven't been yet, but consensus on the board is that classy + great cocktails = No. 9 Park in Beacon Hill.
As for the best bakeries, there's Flour, with locations on the waterfront and in the South End. For Italian bakeries, try the cannoli or lobster tails at Mike's or Modern in the North End.

re: conbon
Opps sorry. I am staying in Back Bay area.
I have take the suggestion from the board to dine at Les Palier, No9Park and O Ya.
We are a couple in the 40's looking for somethings classy typical Boston.
PS. My previous post reminds me of a story from a friend of mine that used to work at a airline in reservations, he would get calls to book a flight to Florida. When he would ask where in Flordia people would say in United States or they would say Collins Street. They callers would never have an idea of what part of Florida! Made him crazy
