Restaurants with Tempeh

Can anyone recommend Boston-area restaurants with delicious Tempeh dishes? Tempeh is a recent discovery of mine and I'm loving it. Thank you!

  1. I love it too and happen to come across your post. Good luck and wish you the best, it is one of my new favorite foods.

Im often in Boston and havent seen any but Im on the hunt down here in Jersey. As of now, I make my own and pick it up from the hot bar for lunch often from Whole Foods.

Glad theres another tempeh fan out there.

The OtherSide Cafe is a very vegan/veggie friendly place, and they have Tempeh in a lot of their dishes. Just want to try something different!

May try to make my own, but I'm not much of a cook. We'll see.

Do you have any contact info for the Other Side Cafe?

    2. This is a little out of the Boston area, but if you are in the NH area, the Portsmouth Brewery used to have a pretty tasty tempeh Cubano. I just checked the menu, though, and looks like they replaced it with a grilled tempeh with gouda and honey mustard sandwich. Haven't tried it, though.

By the way, if you do decide to prepare it at home, you can always post on the Homecooking board. I'm sure you'll get some creative responses.

and INCREDIBLY good beer there as well.

      2. Buddha's Delight in Chinatown has a lot of dishes with tempeh and tofu. There is absolutely no compromise in flavor just because the dishes are vegetarian.

        1. Masao's Kitchen in Waltham makes a delicious tempeh dish. However, it is not available everyday. Masao puts out a macrobiotic buffet and you pay by the pound. Yummy desserts too...I love his apple strudel! The entree rotates each day between fried seitan, bbq tofu and a tempeh dish. All beautifully prepared and tasty, but you may want to call ahead if you really want the tempeh.
