No more Aperol distribution in NYC?

I was just informed by my local italian wine shop owner that the makers of Aperol have stopped distribution to the US. Is this true? There are a few places in NYC that I could pick this up and it seems to be getting more popular so I was quite surprised to hear this. Anyone know anything about this? I am so bummed!
