Hello Fellow Foodies!

I am planning on hosting a small fundraiser/birthday party in about 6 months time. In particular, I am looking for a venue for approx 50 guests and:

1. Hold approximately 50 people - available for rent at a low cost (or hopefully free!)
2. Provide light appetizers at a reasonable cost
3. Will allow me to bring in a band as live entertainment and birthday cake!

In the past, I have used the Art Bar at the Gladstone Hotel - great experience (they are my fallback choice), but looking for something new!

Try the Tranzac Club on Brunswick south of Bloor. Good location, they'll run the bar for you and let you bring in your own food. Well sized for the numbers you're thinking about.

We just did something similar at the Smiling Buddha Bar (http://www.smilingbuddhabar.com/) on Dundas West. It has a small stage for performance (we managed to have a bad with 6 guys playing). There was a minimum charge for the venue, so we did not have to pay extra since the bar bill exceeded the minimum.

They do not serve food, but we ended up getting appetizer platters from the bar down the street. We also got take out delivered from a sushi place & we got cup cakes for the birthday boy. It was an awesome night.
