silverlake/echo park indian food please??

electric lotus is gross and tantra's just silly(in my opinion) - what i really want is good cheap indian food close to home. does it exist? anybody?

    For South Indian vegetarian, India's Sweets/Spices, just over the river in Atwater, is certainly inexpensive, and can be tasty if you know what to get and when; Paru's just west of Vermont on Sunset is OK too. Then there's the lunch buffet at Gil's downtown...

      Makkah Halah in koreatown gets written up a lot. they will deliver to silver lake.

        Agra, in the mini-mall at Fountain and Sunset (the same one where Saito and Nad Pob are), used to be quite good, although I think it has slipped a little in quality in the past year or so. It's definitely cheaper than Electric Lotus/Tantra, and more authentic as well.
