Picnic Catering Suggestions in SLO?

Hey all -

We're hosting a rehearsal dinner picnic the day before our wedding and we are at a loss for catering. We were thinking along the lines of BBQ or some other relaxed dinner menu. I've been to Mo's BBQ, but haven't been entirely impressed by their BBQ - are there other BBQ catering options you'd recommend? We're not limited to BBQ, we just figured it would make the most sense for a picnic.

We don't want to spend too much, since we're underwriting our wedding the next day....

Thanks in advance.

  1. You might want to talk to the people at the Rib Line on Los Osos Valley Road in SLO, near the Honda and Toyota dealers.
They did a terrific lunch for our Bike Club with TriTip , sausage, beans, salad and dessert. Reasonable price.

    1. if you like adventurous food, there's Jaffa Mediterranean Cafe and Bon Temps Creole Cafe, both of whom cater.

The food is good at the cafes, have not had any food catered by them. Both should be 'reasonable'.

      1. Sincere thanks! We drove by Ribline and it looks like a definite option - same with Jaffa and Bon Temps...thanks!!!

        1. I have had Popolo and have used several times. I was just curious where you were planning on having the dinner? has two venues in the area with outdoor seating available. I think the barbeque runs about $15-17 pp. If you wanted to pick up, I highly recommend Cahoots Catering in Paso Robles. Check out their prices, and the food is incredible.
