Outdoor Places to Eat with New Baby?

yamyampang Aug 1, 2008 05:59 PM

I had my first baby three weeks ago and I'm looking for a few places to eat in West L.A. where we can take our tiny daughter. Specifically, I'm looking for places that aren't too crowded and that have outdoor eating areas. My understanding is I'm not really supposed to take her to indoor restaurants or other potentially crowded indoor spaces until she's around 8 weeks old, but that outdoor places will be fine. Thanks in advance for any suggestions...

I would keep an eye out to make sure that you don't end up somewhere where everyone outside is smoking.

Along Montana (in the teen blocks) there are many outdoor eating areas, and on San Vicente, between Bundy and Federal there are many outdoor places as well.

    Congratulations on your newborn!

Congratulations! The first 9 months are a great time to go out to eat; it does get harder though... We like Brentwood Country Mart - good variety of choices, especially like Reddi-Chik and Frida tacos. Always easy to get a table. Don't know how you feel about chains, but now that we're parents we have a new appreciation for Cheesecake Factory on San Vicente with the tables by the courtyard fountain. Good luck and have fun!

3 Square on Abbot Kinney would also work.

            Congratulations!! (what's her name?)

are you in the valley or city or elsewhere?

in the valley or in weho, there's hugo's that has outdoor seating and generally isn't too crowded out there.

in west la on wilshire, lazy daisy has a nice patio

in sherman oaks, cafe cordiale has a non-crowded patio. there's also sisley (i know but i love the chopped salad w/ eggplant)

in beverly hills, a lot of places have nice outdoor dining places - panini cafe, porta via, jack'n'jill's, charleville cafe, le pain quotidien, green leaf chop shop

in santa monica, babalu, blue plate, le marmiton

Great, thanks for the further suggestions! I'm pretty close to Ocean Park. National and Barrington area. The baby's name is Ella.
