Corduroy in its new location

I'm taking my parents to Corduroy tomorrow night because I liked it so much when I visited it last winter. At the time it was located in a hotel. I was wondering if anyone has noticed a big difference in the food since moving locations or if it has stayed consistently good?

It is supposed to be just as good, but with an improved ambience/location. But be sure to note the change in dresscode (its on the website), which they appear to be pretty strict about.

Very nice review today in the Post: http://www.washingtonpost.com/ac2/wp-...

Chef Power's menu is every bit as good if not better! You will see a lot of the same faces in the front of the house as well.

The only difference I've noticed is that the food is even better then the last time I went (last winter as well and I thought it was excellent then).

Was your server the REALLY tall guy? If so, we had him last time too and I was not impressed. When the kitchen messed up our rack of lamb, he actually came back to the table and said "It's not my fault!" So unprofessional!

At this point I can't remember what he looked like, but I do think he was tall.

It was weird because the first time I went to Corduroy I had a wonderful waiter. Our waiter last month didn't ruin the meal, I just thought he was a little off putting.

i prefer the new location. it's really beautiful. they don't play music downstairs which made me go stir crazy, so next time i'll ask for upstairs.

the food was great, but agree ther service was odd. the tall guy was humorless.

The Washington Post magazine has a review of new Corduroy in this Sunday's paper. Tom gives it 2 1/2 stars, and generally good comments.

Maybe the waiter was having an off night. We have been served by the tall waiter on several visits and find him quite personable. He came over one time, even though we were not in his section, because he remembered us.
