the best i had were from near walterboro, sc, but i don't recall the name of the seller. ;-(

I know several of the farmer's at the farmer's markets here in Concord, NC sell green peanuts. You might try your local one. They grown plenty of peanuts in Virginia too. :)

I have a new secret ingredient for boiled peanuts-bacon salt. If you google it you will find it. It is actually vegetarian and kosher-I don't know how they do it, but it adds great flavor.

Yum! I'll have to try this out.

For the original poster - I'm in NC and after Labor Day is when I normally find green peanuts at my local markets and stands. I don't know any suppliers that ship.

I am also wanting some green peanuts to boil, I only want the green ones so I may have to wait about a month yet but have trouble finding them. So if anyone knows where I can get some in Hickory, NC or real close to Hickory, I sure would appreciate your help. I dont want to order any online, I want to be able to go and get them myself. Thanks so much

Check out H-Mart or other large Asian market -- I've found green peanuts there in the summer months going into September/early October. Green peanuts are the kind you want to boil. You can boil raw dried peanuts but it takes forever and ever. I usually set them up in a big crock pot or countertop cooker and let them go for a few days until they are just right. Then freeze them for nuking them later.
