Wait time at Uchi

I would like to bring my parents to Uchi on Friday and could not get a reservation at a decent time. Can anyone advise me on how long a typical wait is if I get there around 6 on Friday?

6pm on a Friday, its probably a flip of the coin on whether you'll get seated quickly. Last time I went it was at 5:05, and there were only two parties seated in the entire place. It was still pretty empty until 5:30. By 6 most tables were seated. By 6:30 there was a huge queu outside the door--it was practically like the mob waiting to get into a Who Concert in 1979 Cleveland when I went out there to smoke a cigarette.

If you get there shortly before they open you can often be seated very quickly, as they have a lot of first come first served seating. However if you get there after people are already seated expect to wait over an hour. There is bar service and edamame while you wait though.

I don't know if this helps, but a friend and I tried to go at about 6:30 on a Saturday a few months ago and the wait time was 2 hours. We promptly left :)
