French cuisine in Calgary?
After reading many old posts, Fleur de Sel seems to be the current best for food and VFM.
Many of the other restaurants classed as French seem to be more Euro-continental or Modern French Fusion (judging by the menus).
Any other suggestions? And not Belgo (because I refuse to put money in Vickers' pockets).
Thanks
Fleur de Sel: the spinach salad or fish soup to start, cassoulet with duck or the choucroute, the tarte tatin.
I have not been to La Chaumiere in a long time, it was always expensive but good.
I haven't been to Bistro Provence in Okotoks since the change of ownership, although Gilchrist seems to like it. It's a bit far to go for dinner depending on where you live.

La Chaumieres prices, for some reason, have not followed the sky-high trend of other top eateries in Calgary, where it seems that $30-35 entrees went to 40, then 45, now inching into the 50's.
The prices are a bit higher than what is posted on their website, but not by much, IIRC

We love Fleur de Sel, warts and all. Try St. Germain Bistro at the Hotel Arts, had dinner there once, very nice.
