Bread pudding?
I have an insatiable craving for bread pudding and I must know where to get the best! I am also interested in those almost custardy French toasts.
What are your suggestions?

Bread Pudding: Blue Ribon Bakery, Peasant. Dessert truck also has a nice version.
French toast: do a search b/c there have been some threads on this on the Manhattan board. Good in the W Vill has a nice, thick, custard-y version.

The best Chocolate Bread Pudding is at Blue Hill. Hands down, nothing else in the city has gotten even close. You don't need a reservation, just go to the bar and order it. It comes ala mode.

Call me crazy - most locals don't step inside this place, but I swear by the Chocolate Bread Pudding at Carmine's (the big Italian place on 44th St in Times Square). You can get it to go - they give you a HUGE piece studded with raisins & chocolate. Perfect for a group of people to share.

Kings Plaza Diner has a bread pudding that has me going back every summer for more. Their puddin' has such luscious and sauce ssturated chunks of Challah with the most glorious blobs of smooth custard equally abundant throughout. I, personally, could do without the canned peaches and pineapple that they put atop, but that still hasn't stopped me for almost 10 years!
