A few days in San Diego
I'm heading to San Diego tomorrrow for a workshop and would love some ideas for great places to eat near where I will be staying. I'm in a little local place on Rosecrans St. and the workshop is in the NTC. I won't have a car, but am a good walker. I'm really open to types of places - maybe one nice place 'cause Fri. is my birthday - and I love local, fresh, creative food. I'll have 4 nights and maybe one or two lunches. Any direction would be much appreciated!

You'll be within walking distance to Liberty Station, which has a few options for you. Tender Greens and Panera would be good choices there. Also, there's a Con Pane on Rosecrans, and a wonderful chocolate shop called Elegant Truffle on Scott Street (check out their caramels - to DIE for!). Though I haven't been yet, The Pearl Hotel has a restaurant that's received some decent reviews on this board. I believe it, too, is on Rosecrans. You may want to to a search on this board for Point Loma for other suggestions. Enjoy your stay, report back on your dining experiences, and happy birthday!
