Question about a avocado-mayo-lemon spread

I'm planning a picnic lunch in a few days and have a great recipe for a chicken sandwich with avocados, lemon juice and mayo among a few other herbs etc.

What I'm wondering is: Will a sandwich with avocado with lemon juice and mayo in a good cooler stay fresh for 3 or 4 hours or so?

I'm hoping the avocado doesn't turn brown on me while in transit to the picnic.

Can anyone offer advice on this?

Safety experts will tell you over 4 hrs, cumulative, at temperatures between 40 and 140* F is asking for trouble.

Me I'd have no problem with it.

Me either. If the weather is real hot I usually put those kinds of preparations directly against the ice (or other cooling agent) with a couple of layers of plastic between the food and the ice. But then I always arrange my picnic basket with the most perishable items closest to the ice. Just a habit I formed back before refrigeration was available in my family.
If you're worried about the avocado going dark, you might try marinating it for a few minutes in lemon juice before adding it to the sandwiches rather than just drizzling lemon juice over it. I find that works best for me.
