Recommendation Challenge!!!

Hi all,

Are you up for a recommendation challenge?

I have a friend's birthday coming up on Sunday - we'd like to do an early dinner at 6 pm for 4.

Some criteria:
Anything under 14th street is ideal
Preferably with a volume level where we can talk
Ideally something eccletic but won't break the bank
Perhaps something with seasonal and organic food would be good
I'd love to go to Blue Hill but it's out of our budget right now
It doesn't have to be were all the beautiful people go at all, but something with atmosphere that is fun
And hey, for super bonus points, let's make it have some outdoor seating

I Coppi, on 9th, b/t 1st & A. Nicely-prepared Italian food. Good service. Very pretty back garden. Conversation-friendly noise level.

I'll just throw it out there because i really like it and seems to fit the criteria... Cafe Mogador is really nice, pretty cheap and ecclectik with a nice atmosphere (don't know about outside garden). It's Moroccan, and really quite good. I've also had a bday there and it was lovely.

I really like Mermaid Inn.
I agree with Lau, August, also good choice.

Some other options maybe Alfama, Elizabeth, Fig & Olive, and Battery Gardens.
