I am coming to NYC and someone I know suggested Casa Lula. It's supposed to be on 52nd between 8th and 9th. I have been able to find anything on it. Has anyone been there and what do you think?

  1. It's spelled Casellula, which is probably why you couldn't find it by searching. It's a wine bar that supposedly has pretty good cheese selections. I haven't been so can't give you an opinion. But here's their website: http://www.casellula.com/ .

    1. It's Caselulla.

We've been there for dinner about 2 months ago. I was not impressed with their wine lists, which I thought was trying hard to be eclectic but really bordered more on offering the lowest cost wines that they can find but not necessarily good quality-price-ratio wines.

The food's OK and I remember the chorizo and the mac-n-cheese to be quite good, but I wouldn't rush to go back. I feel that there are a lot of other tapas/winebars that are better.

      1. Yep--Casellula. I've only been once but really liked the food and atmosphere. Definitely a good option in the area.

        1. Have been once pre-theater and enjoyed it very much. We ate lightly but I thought the food was fresh and very good. Everything was reasonably priced as well.
