What am I missing?
I like an energy bar as much as the next health conscious person. I was in WF, and bought about 4 or 5 different flavors of the Larabar. They offer interesting flavors like, Cherry Pie, Pistachio, Ginger Snap, Banana Bread and Cinnamon Roll. I'm not a fan of chocolate-flavored bars, so I never get those. What attracted me is that these are sugar free and from the looks of it, are a pretty natural and healthy snack bar. I have tasted almost all of the ones I bought, and I cannot tell one flavor from the next. They all taste like dates, which is their main ingredient to sweeten the bars. Why didn't I notice that when I read the ingredients?
Am I missing something? I was wondering what others think about these snack bars and can someone suggest a more interesting brand?
I'm a fan of the Luna Bars. Toasted Nuts & Cranberry is very good. So is the Oatmeal Raisin. Of course, I prefer the chocolate ones like Nutz Over Chocolate and Caramel Nut Brownie. Each bar is about 180 calories and has a lot of essential vitamins & minerals, including iron and folate.
Larabar's are my favorite, but I really only eat them when traveling... I prefer more "real" food if possible. I like the Larabars most because they are not loaded with a bunch of vitamins (making it taste like you are eating a vitamin pill). The other bars I like are the Cliff bars, and once in a while I will choke down a Luna bar.
I really like the lemon Larabars, but my new, absolute favorite are the sweet and salty Mojo bars by Cliff. I admit I haven't gotten past the Mixed Nuts, that's all I get when I go to the store, but I have heard good things about the Peanut Butter and Jelly flavor as well as the Mountain Mix.
