Driving down Saturday to Le Petit Trianon for the Midsummer Mozart Festival performance. Any suggestions for a pre concert meal that will get us out in time for a 7:30 performance and hopefully allow us to park the car in one place and walk to the restaurant and performance?

We like Picasso's Tapas at 62 West Santa Clara. About four blocks away, I think. Le Petit Trianon in on 5th near Santa Clara, and Picasso's is on Santa Clara between 1st and Market (or 2nd and 1st).

There are lots of other choices within walking distance, many of them on E. San Fernando. What kind of food are you interested in?

Just remembered: The Loft Bar and Bistro, on Second St near San Fernando (about four blocks from Petit Trianon). Bella Mia's also near there.

On San Fernando between 1st and 3rd you'll find Gordon Biersch, E and O Trading, PF Chang's, and a new "Latin Bistro."

Our favorite pre-Le Petit Trianon spot is Quang Da for central Vietnamese food. It's not fancy but the food is very tasty, and the picture menu makes ordering easy if you're not so familiar with the cuisine. It's just a few blocks walk from Le Petit Trianon; parking at or near the city hall garage is an easy walk to both dinner and the concert.
