Aquavit restaurant week? Anyone try it?
I have Cafe dinner res tonight. Anyone familiar with the menu? Doesn't seem like it's that great a deal, they seem to have a $24 fixed price menu as is.

Someone (sorry for the vagueness) rated it the best place for RW lunch last year.. so it should be very good! Enjoy I am going there tomorrow

I've not been there for RW, and have not tried their regular prix fixe, but the food is good. I enjoy the herring platter, particularly the curried herring, and the meatballs are a favorite of mine. Do try some of the aquavits, if you are so inclined. I prefer the savory flavours. I do wish they had a more moderately priced wine list for the Cafe. The prix fixe on the website for dinner seems to be $36 now.

I went. It was alright, but there's really no reason to get the $35 PF as the meal will be about that much anyways. So no, I didn't think it was a good deal but the food was good and the waiters and everyone were very friendly.

completely agree. i went and ended up ordering off the menu (the smorgasbord was only $22!). i recommend checking it out for some of the most interesting food out there.

The service I received at Aquavit was iffy (ie cutlery being changed while i was still eating my previous course)...
The food was good but not great. I ordered the herring sampler, the meatballs and the parfait. The dessert was fine.

Went last week. Their RW price was $24 in the Cafe. I also think its one of the best RW options. Yet, I've been there for "regular lunch" and they also have a prix fixe in the cafe for about the same price. Had excellent corn soup, herring sampler, Swedish meatballs (we think they are the best in the city) and salmon. Nice desserts too. We have always had good service at Aquavit, in both dining rooms.
