Best knife shop in Rhode Island or nearby?

Dear NE Chowhounds,

I'm looking to give my Dad a gift card to an excellent knife shop for his birthday. I would rather not go with a big chain as I want him to have the opportunity to hold the knives, get advice from knowledgeable store staff and be able to return for sharpening, etc.

Does anyone know of a good shop like that? My Dad lives in Providence but anywhere within reasonable driving distance will do.

I'm not from the area so any advice is greatly appreciated!

the knife shop in the providence place mall is really great.weve bought a few knifes there[i love my new ceramic knife],have had them sharpen a few knifes for us,and have gotten great advice too.id say its the best in the area.......
