Brewing beer, curing meat, or making cheese? Get great advice

Need pre/post drinks suggestions in Tribeca (trying Forge tonight)

I'm meeting some friends, a couple visiting from California, tonight at Forge, the new place the ex-BLT chef recently opened up in Tribeca (on Reade St., bet. Greenwich & Hudson Sts.) Has anyone been?

1. I'm looking for a place nearby to meet for drinks before dinner (around 7:30ish). Not a pub, dive or beer bar. Somewhere a bit classier, not stuffy, with good energy, 30s-40s crowd. This is a night on the town for them, so I want them to have fun.

2. Also, after dinner we may grab another drink (11:30ish). Does anyone know of a good place to catch post-dinner drinks, also nearby? Good vibe, maybe some light/live music. Some energy to the place, but not too loud, we'll do doing a lot of catching up.

Not interested in Tribeca Hotel. How about Brandy Library Lounge? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated???

Thank you!

I was going to suggest the Brandy Library and there is also the Bubble Lounge on W Broadway. There is also the bar at the Tribeca Grand and Ago, De Niro's new hotel & restaurant on Greenwich St at North Moore.

For after dinner drinks you might like B Flat on Church St bet. White & Franklin.

I'd be interested to hear how Forge is. The previous couple of restaurants to occupy the space have not lasted long but this seems to have a bit more buzz around it.

Bubble Lounge is a terrific recommendation. Great setting with good energy. Definitely not a dive bar.
