I remember reading recently about a place in fells point that someone was surprised had steamed crabs. A friend is coming in from out of town and has never had crabs. I will take him to Cantler's if I absolutely have no other option, but I wouldn't mind staying local.

I tried searching the board but came up with far to many topics to go through one by one. What are the decent crab houses in Baltimore?

Captain James Landing/Crab House is on Boston Street between Fells Point and Canton and serve up decent crabs, IMO. Better than O'Brycki's, your other nearby choice, anyway.

The place you heard about in Fells Point might be Riptide By The Bay. I have not been, but it has had some above average reviews.

That is the one I just read about! Thanks. I'm not overly concerned about much of their other fare. It's hard to screw up steamed crabs... that being said, I have had some terrible ones in the past.

Bill's and Costa's are the consensus favorites on the board.

Are there tables at Bill's? It looks more like a take-away type place...

Bill's Terrace Inn is large and filled with tables. There is a bar and pool table area to wait in. And if you don't get there early, you will wait. This place is Baltimore. You have to try it at least once.

What's the deal with Bill's Seafood up near White Marsh? They have really reasonable prices on their website.

Looks like a carryout place from their website.
