Broadway East has a big old table right in the middle of the room that will fit your party (see picture). It's mostly vegetarian, with some chicken and seafood dishes. And it's good.

I'm pretty sure The Orchard also has room for you. A bit more expensive, and a bit better, if you ask me.

small h, how is The Orchard? I've never been. Is it worth over $20-$30 for an entree? Is it better than Elyssa and Bacaro two of my nearby favorites? Thanks. fdr

I've only had dessert at Bacaro, so I can't speak much to that, although I loved the atmosphere & the service (the dessert was very fine, also). And I haven't been to Elyssa Dido at all - I am useless! I thought Orchard was worth the money, but note that I like a slightly fussy place with a hint of pretension. I was pleased with the quality of the ingredients there, and the portion size (not itty-bitty), and the service was warm and professional.

What I can wholeheartedly recommend as a lovely neighborhood place with a great bang for the buck - should you be looking for one - is Cafe Katja. It's food you can't find everywhere else, it's dirt cheap, and the staff is almost absurdly welcoming. Blows Loreley right out of the water.

Thanks, smallh. We have already eaten our way through Bacaro and Elyssa's menus. We'll add Cafe Katja to the list. We also need to return to Rayuela which we enjoyed.

Price range? Type of cuisine? I like Bacaro (Italian) and they have private rooms. Same owners as Peasant. It's at the end of Orchard on Division. I don't think it's appropriate for a business dinner.
