Turtle Bay Taqueria on Fremont has a great chicken based soup, blanking on name, there's also a great burger place close by on Fremont (also blanking.... Del Monte Express?). There are several threads about a little Mexican place just off Del Monte, Baan (Barn) Thai, and a few others. Do a search of this board for Seaside and if you're willing to drive just a few miles, Marina.

They're called banh mi (sometimes spelled bahn mi). Might try Pho King (seriously) in Seaside.

Last time I was at Pho King - no banh mi.

But two good spots for lunches are the taquerias behind the Mexican Markets on Broadway just east of Fremont.

I have eaten at Garcia's (behind the Latino Market) many times, and I love the tortas there. But it is pretty sleazy.

jaweino - whose palate I trust - recommends the tacos from the back of the larger, Mi Tierra Mkt, which sits right on the corner of Fremont and Broadway.

Either place, you can get good, cheap, autentico tacos.
