Southwest or Texas Style Grill Reco's
Looking for a taste of the southwest, especially open fire grilling, in DC or suburbs.....help!

sorry sweetheart. i'm from texas and have given up in the search for great southern food/tex-mex/barbecue. however a few acceptable alternatives to sate cravings:
— ugly mug in eastern market has fried jalapenos and chicken fried steak
— king st. blues in alexandria and arlington has ribs, chicken fried steak, apple pork chops, fried chicken, etc.
— never been to austin grill but have been told it's good, not great.
— georgia brown's has really great twists on southern classics, but it's a bit pricey. great for a special occasion though.
