Best Burger joint to eat/takout for one person in BH/WEHO

In addition to my wife, all of my friends are out of town and I am flying solo this weekend Are there any good places for me to go to where I can sit at the counter and grab beer and a burger in the BH/WEHO area? I am willing to do take out or travel to other areas as well.

    1. Well not in BH/WEHO but when I want a great craft or Belgian beer on tap or two AND a great burger and wonderful Sweet Potato Fries to go with it there are only two places that come to mind. Yea, I didn't go for so long because the folks here had me convinced that between the pushey crowds first waiting in line and then battling for a table, the inflexible kitchen etc. that I would have an experience akin to my childhood dentist with the dull needles! Well finally the GF dragged me for my birthday and we spent about 3 minutes waiting in line chatting with the friendly guy at the door, ordered and got a table right away. The draft beers and food were top notch and it's also great when going solo. I just wish that I hadn't listened to the naysayers on this board for so long. If you haven't been I would suggest the original location in Santa Monica although the new Culver City branch has been great.

Call me anti-social, but if I was just out looking for a burger, I'd rather not deal with the whole Santa Monica experience of FO. The Culver City location also seems to have friendlier bartenders, but that might just because they have more free time to chit-chat.

foodiemv mentioned "...sit at the counter and grab beer and a burger..." and that's why I suggested either FO location. There are lots of places near BH/WEHO to grab a burger but not a great beer and burger that I am aware of. I also like Lucky Devils but their selection of beer is more limited than FO and they don't have a counter.

      2. Houston's has the best cheeseburgers in town. You can sit at the bar if you don't want a table. They're located in Century City and I believe Santa Monica.

        1. Irv's is pretty good, but no beer, and they close early. Not really a sit down and have a beer and burger sort of place. I would suggest Carny's on Sunset, the diner at The Standard Hotel, 25 Degrees at The Roosevelt Hotel, or, (for those with an open mind) Hamburger Mary's on Santa Monica and Sweetzer.

I'd also add Lucky Devils and Hungry Cat to your list.

          2. Go sit on the patio at Bar Marmont and have a great burger while the people watching will be almost as good.

Problem with the burger and a beer for one at Bar Marmont is that the valet parking will almost double the price of the meal. And be very careful about offstreet parking -- very busy tow trucks and insanely difficult, complex hours and restrictions.
