Upper Bucks/Lehigh Valley Ice Cream?

I really like Tanner Bros. down in Warminster, but I don't get down there that often. Can anyone recommend any ice cream, preferably locally made, either at a stand or available packed? Anywhere in the Upper Bucks or LV area is fine as I traverse it all during my hellish commute.

Coffee and Cream in Doylestown has great ice cream. I believe it's made at DVC, which is right up the road.

    I like Chubby's as well.

Come to think of it, I have gotten ice cream there, and it was pretty good. I wasn't thinking of it, but thanks for the reminder. I guess with the DVC market open again, it's also worth swinging over there. Thanks!

I've been meaning to get to DVC market but haven't had the time. Hopefully I'll get there soon though.

Check out the Owowcow thread, too. They have homemade, high-quality, locally-sourced very good ice cream in Ottsville.

Chubby's in Doylestown/Plumsteadville immediately next to the Plumsteadville inn (like in their parking lot) is AWESOME.

If I could have more sugar, I would go once a week. They do a lot for the community to, use local dairy milk, non hormone, etc. All made on premises, I think they even make their own cones possibly? They have water ice as well, and they will make cakes/containers.

        UMMM, I want ice cream.

I've been past Chubby's but never got around to actually stopping. I'd forgotten about it a little. I'll definitely make a trip of it. Thanks... & sorry for feeding vices.

There's a place called Sundae School...I think it might be in one of these numerous little odious towns...Maybe closer to me in Bedminster/Hagersville, etc.

Not so odious...we just have no real NAMES. lol.

I never DID get ice cream. I was thinking of trying there, however.

sommrluv, I've always wanted to try that place. It is right on the road, in a converted old building, but it is a quarter of a mile from my beloved R and S Keystone Diner, so I only drive past when I am really wanting to get my great diner food on! I seem incapable of stopping there, as if I am a meteorite and the gravitational force of the diner pulls me in. Perhaps a review of the Sundae School will convince me to eat a good dinner at home and then try the place. But the R and S Keystone has rice pudding and bread pudding and pies....

givemecarbs, you may be better off passing it by. It's a nice place to take the kids because they'll let you ride the train out back for free, but the last time I was in there, they were serving Hershey's ice cream, and it just doesn't do it for me. They are really nice and seem to be making a go of it in tough times, but I was really disappointed with the ice cream. I think they'd be the perfect place for home-made ice cream & it would attract a lot more people.
Speaking of parlors being driven past, there's a new one up in Coopersburg on 309 that looks interesting, but I'm not sure I can justify sitting in the construction traffic to try it out. If I do, I'll be sure let people know.
