If you are into beer ... Eulogy is awesome. Huge beer list, mussels & frites. Cozy, casual, Yummy. If you are willing to go a a little further south - Ansill is at 3rd and Bainbridge, amazing small plates, great bar... one of Philly's finest.

That would be Bistro 7, a BYOB at 7 N. 3rd Street. Not cheap, but reasonably-priced, especially for the food quality. Atmosphere is classy modern, but attire can be casual.

Not too far from the historic district is one of my favorites, Gayle, a great little restaurant near 3rd and South Streets. You can certainly go there dressed casually....but it is on the expensive side. Entrees 30-35. Don't be fooled by the simple descriptions of the items on their menu....the dishes are very creative and delicious!
