Hi,

We will be in Nashville for a day and wondering where are the best places for local food. Also, should we stay downtown or out towards Franklin?

Thanks,

Where you stay depends on what kind of experience you want. Downtown and midtown Nashville are where the restaurants, museums, clubs and events are. Franklin is a pretty little town (with some sprawl at the edges, and that's where most of the hotels are). A couple of good museums, pretty scenery, good restaurants, great shopping both in downtown Franklin and in the vast CoolSprings mall complex. It's about 14 miles from Nashville.

There have been many recent discussions this summer on Nashville's local food on these boards, so go back a couple of weeks and start there, then work your way back to the beginning of summer.

Thanks - we decided to stay in a B&B in Brentwood.

Rotier's has one of the best burgers in the U.S. It's near Vanderbilt University. www.choppedonion.com
