Brunch/ quincy area

Hi,
My father wants to go out for a nice brunch (I think he may be thinking hotel style) for his birthday on Sunday. We will have a bunch of family and 3 kids with us. Any recommendations. I don't usually do brunch anywhere but home. It doesn't have to be Quincy specific, just in the general area (quincy, milton, braintree, canton etc. . . )
thanks,
teresa

    Hi,

Last week, we decided to try the Fox and Hound in Quincy for brunch. It was the first time I'd tried that restaurant and it wasn't bad at all. It's not the most extensive selection, but it's only $12 for the buffet, and the quality of the food was good.

Scarlet Oak is nice. I have had brunch there 4 or 5 times. Strawberry Fair pretty much right across the street from Scarlet Oak has a good brunch menu as well and is more casual.

I haven't been, but the Scarlet Oak Tavern in Hingham does a Sunday brunch...

You won't find much in Milton or Canton. A couple of the places at Marina Bay in Quincy do brunch, but I'm not sure how good they are...

that looks good, maybe not too kid friendly though. . . Anyone know anything about Marina Bay? I've not been terribly impressed with any food I've eaten there in the past. I also heard Hancock's at the Marriott does brunch, any comments?

Make sure you contact the Scarlet Oak Tavern, they had a lightning strike last week which destroyed the chimney and they sustained some roof damage. I am sure they are open, I would just call to be safe.

i LOVE Handock's at the Marriott. I myself though prefer a breakfast brunch rather than a lunch brunch. You can call in advance and make a reservation. The seats are very comfortable. I think it is $15.95. They have a omlet/egg station and my favorite thing there is that they make the belgian waffels in the cast iron right infront of you. But the best thing is that they are mini's . Love them :) I have been to Finians (I think it is just ok....the food is not bad...dont get me wrong, but the atmosphere and food just are not wonderful). Finians has lunch & breakfast all you can eat. Best place is Jamies. You can go to any of their locations (braintree, scituate, and I think they have more). That is all I can think of .
